Day 3: TCU

10/27/11

I had a patient, Hill, who had many issues.  Had HTN, brain stimulator, Parkinson’s, and depression.  The diagnosis for admittance to TCU is he fell and fractured his hip.  He had a large black eye and was not quite awake at first.  He did not talk much at first, but later on he was more conscious and could respond.  Did not have much of an interaction besides taking vitals & talking.  Watched a wound assessment/dressing change on a total hip replacement and later on a shin wound (deep & open cut).  Helped transport a patient from bed to chair (Yugoslavian guy).  Did not see RN much at all.  Did a general head to toe on patient (alone) just to asses.

Meds Hill was on: warfarin (anti-depression)
